INIA is the public body, attached to the Ministry of Agriculture and Irrigation, responsible for designing and executing the national strategy for agricultural innovation.
Within the framework of the Modernization of State Management policy, Law No. 27658, INIA carries out activities aimed at simplifying its organizational function, as well as providing a better and more efficient service to the community. That is why the need arises to implement process management to achieve that end.
Process management is a methodological approach that uses techniques and tools for the improvement and change of business processes in its three dimensions: technological, human, and organizational.
Our intervention focused on the identification, classification, design, and representation of the operational processes of the following INIA sub directorates: Agricultural Products and Research and Special Studies.

Until before the assignment, INIA did not use tools and methods to characterize and represent its business processes. Therefore, it could not improve them by applying quality management and administration concepts.
