For the attention of one of its clients, the Automatic Solutions company, a project manager was required to carry out the development and delivery of a “Utilities Billing System”.
The Automatic Solutions company provides basic services (such as electricity and drinking water) to the tenants of shopping centers. Consumptions for which they must issue monthly bills. Additionally, in the case of electrical energy, there was a problem. Light meters were subject to produce anomalous measurements, reflected in peaks, which made it difficult to calculate the service cost.
As part of our intervention, a mechanism was identified to eliminate the peaks using the statistical calculation of standard deviation. With the help of a parameter, the system managed to obtain consistent results for the electricity bill. Likewise, a trust relationship was established with Automatic Solutions, which made it possible to deliver the system to their satisfaction.
